You Do Not Actually Need People
You need to feel safe and secure.
When you create relationships with people, you hope for something in return—comfort, friendship, love, and presence. In an ideal world, each of us would be healthy enough to love each other, but this is not actually the case. If you want love and belonging, you must work to seek it and form relationships with people so that they respect, admire, and care about you in return. That can be shown via your self-work, personality, shared beliefs, ability to express yourself as you learn, and willingness to listen.
Each of us can get emotionally drained and broken, whether it be something that directly hits our sensitivities, disturbs us in terms of not belonging, or anything else we deeply care about. Life is full of these challenges and disappointments, and our emotions are not dulled because a feeling that is not expressed shows up in the body and causes pain, discomfort, disease, and debilitation.
In effect, if you want to have many loving, caring, compassionate, and supportive people around you, you must work on your attitude and beliefs about people, relationships, and emotional intelligence.
